Quaker Fest
Greetings in Christ!
I have attached a picture of Salem-Upper Springfield's booth at the City of Salem's annual Quakerfest this year.
Also,in preparation for our second year of participation in the City of Salem's annual "Quakerfest," we had some buttons made. About 20 of them were given out to students from Malone College when they worshiped with Salem, as they do once a year, and another 10 or so were given out at our booth in down-town Salem.
We only got one non-Friend to attend our lecture by Henry Jason, but we are encouraged that we have participated in the event two years in a row now. We have some ideas of how to do things better next year. Most of all, we have "come out of the closet" regarding our "Quakerness!"
I encourage your meeting to consider ways in which you might let Christ's light shine more from you, not just to draw in outsiders, but to bolster your own sense that Conservative Friends have been blessed with something precious, which we should be excited to proclaim and to share. I would like to send your meeting some of the buttons if Friends there will promise to wear them from time to time out in the world.
